Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
These terms apply to all wedding and event bookings made with Yarlington Barn, Dobunni Farm, Wick Road, Lympsham, Somerset, BS24 0HA (“we”, “us”, “our”). By paying your deposit, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Booking and confirmation
A date is only reserved once we’ve received your signed booking form and deposit. Until then, your chosen date remains available to other couples.
2. Payment
A deposit of [insert amount or %] is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due [insert timeframe, e.g. 8 weeks before your wedding date]. We accept payment by [insert accepted methods]. Bookings are not confirmed, and dates are not held, until the deposit has cleared.
3. Cancellation and postponement
If you need to cancel or postpone your wedding, please let us know in writing as soon as possible. [Insert your cancellation/refund policy here, e.g. a tiered schedule showing what’s refundable depending on how far in advance you cancel.] We’ll always try to be as accommodating as we can, particularly for postponements due to circumstances outside your control.
4. Guest numbers
Our packages cater for up to 100 guests (up to 40 for our Chisel Jersey package). Final guest numbers, including any dietary requirements, must be confirmed no later than [insert deadline, e.g. 4 weeks before your wedding]. As we’re a lakeside venue, we ask that no more than six children under 18 attend, for everyone’s safety.
5. Catering
Your chosen menu(s) will be confirmed as part of your booking. Please let us know about any dietary requirements or allergies as early as possible so our catering team can plan accordingly.
6. Licensing and alcohol
Yarlington Barn holds a full bar licence, and all alcohol served on site must be purchased through us. [Confirm whether any exceptions apply, e.g. a corkage arrangement for personal wine.]
7. Music and finish times
Music and celebrations must end by midnight in line with our licensing hours, regardless of your package’s start time.
8. Decorations and styling
Real flame candles, confetti and decorations are welcome within the styling options included in your package, but must be agreed with us in advance. For the safety of the venue and grounds, we don’t permit fireworks, sky lanterns, or [insert any other restricted items].
9. External suppliers
Any external suppliers you bring in (photographers, florists, entertainers, etc.) must hold their own public liability insurance, details of which should be provided to us in advance of your wedding date.
10. Damage and liability
You are responsible for the actions of your guests and suppliers during your event, including any damage caused to the venue, grounds, or furnishings. [Insert whether a damage deposit applies, and how it’s handled.] We recommend all couples take out wedding insurance to cover cancellation, postponement, and other unforeseen circumstances.
11. Circumstances beyond our control
Neither party will be held liable for failing to meet their obligations under these terms where this is due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control.
12. Photography and marketing
We may take photographs of the venue on your wedding day for our own marketing purposes. If you’d prefer any images featuring you or your guests not to be used, please let us know in writing.
13. Complaints
If anything about your booking or your day falls short of your expectations, please get in touch with us directly so we can put things right.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
